Do I have to be a member to enjoy the services of The Grand Ballroom?
No, everything at The Grand Ballroom is available to anyone, but most services are discounted for members.
When I bought the Beginner Classes, I was given a laminated card. Does this mean I am a member?
No, this is a Client/Student card only. When you purchase membership, you will be issued a new card with your membership details on the back.
Explanation of Membership Discounts
1/2 Price Repeat For Group Classes
You may repeat any of our regular Group Classes for 1/2 the regular price, at any time. This can be a BIG saving!
Group and Private Lessons
All members are entitled to a 10% discount on the regular posted fee for any group class or private lesson with Andy or Wendy Wong.
Workshops and Specialty Classes
All members are entitled to a 10-15% discount on the registration fee for all dance workshops and specialty classes. These classes include Mambo, Westcoast Swing, Latin Technique and Viennese Waltz.

Practice Fees
The practice fee for all members is $3 per person per day (non-members pay $5). Please refer to our [Dance Practice](content.php?SectionID=2&ContentID=5 “Dance Practice”) page for information on Competitor practice.
Regular Party Admission
Admission prices for members are as follows:
- Thursdays $7
- Fridays & Saturdays $8
- Afternoon Tea Dances $5
Prices for non-members are $9, $10, and $6 respectively. In addition, members are entitled to a 10-20% discount on admissions to all Special Occasion parties.
Bonus Birthday
On your birthday, you will receive a complimentary party admission and VIP treatment. What happens if your birthday does not fall on a party night? Don’t worry, we let you pick any night during the month of your special day. (You may use your bonus on Special Occasion Parties but only as a $6 credit.) Please phone ahead to reserve a table for you and your guests.
Retail Merchandise Discount
All members receive a 10% discount on our International Brand Dance Shoes, our dance C.D.’s, and our Video’s. You are welcome to preview our C.D.’s and Videos in our guest lounge.
Member Mail
As a member you are automatically on our mailing list. All information about special events at The Grand Ballroom will be sent to you. Special events include: Chinese New Year Party & Show, Anniversary Party & Show, Pro-Am Fiesta competition, Grand Ball competition, Christmas Party & Show, New Year’s Eve dinner & dance, guest workshops, technique classes, and other classes not on our regular schedule.
Video Library and Guest Lounge
Members may view movies and dance exhibitions on our large screen TV in the comfort of our lounge. A complete listing of available videos will be posted in the lounge. Any music, videos, books and magazines belonging to The Grand Ballroom are for the enjoyment of our guests and must remain on the premises.
