This is the June 2004 article by Andy & Wendy Wong announcing the construction of Grand Ballroom II.
Dear members, friends, and colleagues,
Nearly eleven years ago, we were faced with the daunting task of building something that had never been done before — a grand ballroom that would be the ‘home’ to all dancers and the focal point of our dream to teach and pass on the joy of dancing to our students. From that moment on and in the decade since, The Grand Ballroom has grown into something that we could never have imagined.
The Grand Ballroom has become the leader in the dance industry and is now synonymous with first class service, superb organization, master innovators, and expert instruction. It is an all-encompassing facility with a unique teaching system, major event promotions, the best professional faculty, and the largest student and client base.
But our proudest achievement, and the one that has been the hardest for our competitors to emulate, is our ongoing mission to create the best, the most positive, the most progressive, the most relaxed, and the most joyful atmosphere for our staff, teachers, and all patrons. It is not the facility, but the people inside that makes the difference.
As we approach the end of our eleven-year lease and the imminent closure of the original Grand Ballroom, we are faced with a new challenge and a new daunting task. We must construct our own building in order to continue our mission and to ensure the long-term future of The Grand Ballroom. Unlike eleven years ago, we cannot do it alone now. We need your help. Your assistance may come in many forms… becoming a sponsor, lending a hand in our move, introducing a friend, or simply continuing to patronize The Grand Ballroom as students and guests. We appreciate it all equally.
Grand Ballroom II will not be Andy and Wendy’s studio, but it will be the home for all of us who enjoy dancing in the company of our friends. It is an investment in something that will give all of us a lifetime of happiness.
Sincerely,
Andy & Wendy
