The Grand Ballroom Dance Instructors

All professional dance instructors at The Grand Ballroom are members of The Canadian Dancesport Federation (CDF). CDF is the official governing body for ballroom dance professionals in Canada.

Professional qualifications are separated into the Ballroom (now known as Standard) and Latin American divisions. There are three progressive levels of qualifications—Associate, Member, and Fellow. These levels are standardized and recognized all over the world and are analogous to the degrees of Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate in academic circles. The qualifications you see here are representative of our instructors’ teaching experience, technical knowledge, continual training, and judging qualifications.

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing is based in England and is one of the oldest and most prestigious professional organizations in the world. A “Fellow” qualification from the ISTD is analogous to a Law degree from Harvard and is considered a career achievement for any professional dance teacher.
