More about Linda Chen…
Linda was born in Shanghai, China, to parents who were ballroom dancers. While as a pupil at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Linda took ballet lessons at 8 years old. She obtained her academic training in graphic design from the University of Wisconsin in the United States.
Linda started competing in ballroom dancing with her long time partner, Mr. Andy Valy, of Toronto, in 1985. Together they trained under many internationally renowned coaches and choreographers. Their proudest achievements include the title of North American Senior Standard and Senior Latin Championships, and British Open Senior Latin Semi-finalists.
Linda turned professional in 1997 and is now a member of The Grand Ballroom professional teaching staff. Linda is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English and is our instructor for the Chinese Beginners group class on Sunday afternoon.
